New Recording Studio Enables Easy Web 2.0 Knowledge Capture and Contribution for Improved Business Performance

Saba-Centra Global Summit 2007—San Francisco, Calif.—November 6, 2007—Saba (NASDAQ: SABA), the premier people management software and services provider, today unveiled the next generation of its real-time learning platform, Saba Centra 7.6. This new release enables community-based content creation with an innovative recording studio, extends online learning effectiveness with more accessible hands-on training and drives usage of web conferencing and collaboration through integration with popular business applications. With Saba Centra 7.6, organizations will be able advance real-time learning and improve business performance by expanding knowledge reach and access across large, geographically distributed organizations.

New in Saba Centra 7.6
Saba Centra enables real-time learning that accelerates critical business initiatives and lowers operational costs by incorporating virtual classes, web seminars, self-service web meetings and content management into everyday business practice. Moreover, by integrating Saba Centra with Saba Learning, organizations can provide users with the full continuum of learning.

The new features in Saba Centra 7.6 will enable rapid knowledge transfer and ensure that knowledge shared—formally, informally or on-demand by an individual—is captured and made available across an entire organization.  By capturing knowledge-transfer as it happens and reusing it as a corporate knowledge asset, organizations will be able to enhance how they educate, inform and train globally distributed employees, customers and partners. 

New features in Centra 7.6 include:

Centra Recording Studio – Provides on-demand access to knowledge through an intuitive application that will enable subject matter experts and business users to quickly create, manage and publish professional-quality, rich media content online of offline. Employees will be able to effortlessly create and update knowledge objects such as process documentation, product training, competitive updates, corporate materials and more.  By publishing these knowledge objects to the Saba Knowledge Base, users will be able to easily extend the reach of their knowledge across the extended enterprise.

Surgient Virtual Labs Extension – Provides hassle-free hands-on training through extended lab support from Surgient’s Virtual Training Lab Management System (VTMS).  Users will be able to access live enterprise applications for hands-on learning—removing the need to install and manage software on-site. Class leaders will be able to reserve lab time and move participants to individual labs to conduct personalized, hands-on application training, directly from Centra.  With Saba Centra and Surgient, organizations will have the industry’s leading real-time training solution that can enable broad, on-demand, experiential learning, regardless of where a user is located.

Business Application Integration – Provides access to Centra from everyday business applications, making it easy to collaborate and share information directly from the desktop within the context of day-to-day work.  Users will be able to schedule and start real-time meetings from new versions of applications that include: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Windows Live Messenger, Microsoft Office and EMC eRoom.   All sessions may be automatically recorded and repurposed as organizational knowledge assets.

Enhanced Browser and OS Support – Provides support for Firefox 2.0 for the Mac and Microsoft Windows Vista that will enable anytime, anywhere access to Saba Centra.

"We have used Saba Centra across our campus to enhance our classroom instruction with virtual learning while simultaneously increasing our course offerings and enrollments and reducing instructor travel related expenses." said Becky Vasquez, Student and Technology Services Director for Worldwide Campus at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.  “The new features in Saba Centra will make it easy to share course materials as well as enhance hands-on lab and application training capabilities for our constituents."  Since 1970, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has provided educational opportunities for civilian and military professionals in aviation and aerospace who are unable to attend classes at one of the University's residential campuses. The Worldwide Campus at Embry-Riddle offers academic programs both in the classroom through a network of more than 130 centers in the United States and Europe and through Web-based online learning.
